The Word of Our Testimony

A group of united states arrived home from a mission trip to Honduras just a few days ago. I of the requirements for this trip is that every person has a written testimony that they are ready to share anytime they are asked, whether to a pocket-sized group or at a church service. Many times when we ask people to do this we hear the same response, "I don't really have a testimony" or "I don't know what to say".

Bill Johnson says, in the volume Strengthen Yourself in the Lord:

A testimony is the written or spoken tape of anything that God has washed, and every part of that record becomes your family unit history the moment y'all are born once again. David declared "I accept inherited Your testimonies forever, for they are the joy of my heart" (Psalm 119:111 NASB). This means that every story of every miracle or sign that God has performed is your story because you have go related to the God who made them happen."

When I think about my own life I accept then many stories that I sometimes forget they are my own. It'due south easy to disregard something as insignificant or irrelevant and still, nosotros saw God move in that particular time of our life. My husband and I listened to a podcast recently most how our memory cannot necessarily be trusted. The further away from the event, the less nosotros remember. It was a good reminder to journal and tell our story as frequently as possible, lest we forget.

Lest we forget.

We spend time every yr remembering specific times in our history. Many times with a celebration. When practise we spend time remembering and celebrating what God has done in our lives?

The Hebrew root word for "testimony" means "do it once more". Not just that, Revelation xix:ten says

"the testimony of Jesus is the spirit of prophecy."

When we declare what God has washed, power is released to make that testimony happen again in the lives of those who hear information technology.

While on our mission trip ane gentlemen on our team, Al, was able to testify to a healing he had received earlier in the twelvemonth. At the close of the service a woman came frontward to be prayed for and he was able to pray for her healing. Information technology just and then happened that after that calendar week while we were ministering in another surface area, he ran into that same lady. Al was able to reconnect with this lady only to find out that she had been healed when he prayed for her earlier that week! Praise God!

When we testify to what God has washed in our lives we say, "God, practise it again!" When we mind to someone's testimony we are encouraged and we say to ourselves "God, do that again in ME".

What has God washed in your life? Has He healed you? Saved you? Fabricated himself real to you? How have you experienced God personally? I encourage you to tell someone nigh information technology.

This is your story and someone out there is waiting to hear that God has done in y'all what they are praying for, and He WILL do information technology once again!

And now, God, exercise it again—
bring rains to our drought-stricken lives
So those who planted their crops in despair
will shout hurrahs at the harvest,
So those who went off with heavy hearts
will come home laughing, with armloads of approving.
